Political History of the Radnor School Board
20th Century (1893-2000)
Radnor’s first public school – Radnor High School – was founded in 1893. For over 100 years, only one Democrat was elected to the Radnor School Board for just one four-year term. Other than that, only Republicans served as Radnor School Board members.
2005
It wasn’t until 2005, less than 20 years ago, that the second and third Democrats ever were elected to the Radnor School Board – one to finish an unexpired term and one for a four year term.
2007
Still Republican majority - 2 Democrats on the board.
2009
Still Republican majority - 4 Democrats.
2011
First ever Democratic majority - 6 Democrats.
2013
Second ever Democratic majority - 5 Democrats.
2015
Resumed Republican majority - 3 Democrats.
2017
Third ever Democratic majority - 5 Democrats.
2019
Fourth ever Democratic majority - 9 Democrats.
Radnor Republicans have held the majority on the Radnor School Board for 120 years. Radnor Democrats have held the majority on the Radnor School Board for 9 years.
